My Story

I was born in Bari (Puglia, the heel of the Italian boot), the second son of Cristoforo,a war refugee from Corfù, whose family had lost everything during the second world conflict, and Anna, an Italian seamstress from Altamura. My mother had a beautiful voice and she would often sing while carrying out her house chores. I shared her passion for singing and took up music at an early age. I learned how to playthe guitar and the piano and composed my first album when I was thirteen. I started off playing blues tunes and folk ballads and then I joined a blues rock band, the blissfully underrated XHE, where I learn the ropes in my teen years. When I moved to London, I got back to my blues roots and performed my solo show, ‘Blues Up’, in pubs and cafes all over the capital, with a Friday evening residency at the Pembroke Castle pub in Primrose Hill. I am a proud long-term Londoner and, though I hold both British and Italian nationality, I see myself more as a citizen of the world.
